Spring
(written in 1994, in 4th grade)

The flowers are out,
There are people running about
You use a water spout
And school's almost out.

Cherry blossoms along the street,
And "They're gorgeous" and "Beautiful" say people you meet.
Food markets sell less and less meat,
More people are wearing sandels on their feet.

Kids are ready for summer; ready to go,
Running around with a long-nailed toe.
Trees are hitting your head, because they've grown so low.
The water is warm and people love to row.

You never wear a tie,
And you wouldn't lie,
You give a contented sigh,
And the bread you eat is rye.
